FAQ

Straight answers before you trust a time tracker with your hours.

Who owns my data?

You do. Your data is not sold, not used for advertising, and not shared with anyone except the providers that run the app: the hosting provider, Cloudflare, and the email service. Each sign-up has its own isolated workspace.

Can I delete my account and my data?

Yes. Delete it yourself from Settings. We email a confirmation link to the address on the account. Opening it erases the account, the workspace and every project, task and time entry, immediately and permanently.

Which currencies can I bill in?

USD and ILS. You choose one per project, so one workspace can hold a dollar client and a shekel client.

Does it convert between currencies?

No. Reports show a USD total and an ILS total as separate figures. Punch Clock holds no exchange rate, so it never adds them together.

What happens to old entries when I change a project's rate?

Nothing. The rate and currency are saved on each entry when you log it. A new rate applies to new entries only, so past reports keep their value.

Can two timers run at once?

No. One timer runs per user. If you start a new one, the running one stops and the new one starts.

What if I forget to stop the timer, or close the tab?

The server records when the timer started, and the screen counts from that time. A reload or an overnight tab does not lose it. You can edit the entry's times afterwards. While a timer runs, the tab icon carries a red dot.

What happens to an entry that runs past midnight?

It counts wholly toward the day it started. Entries may overlap, and Punch Clock does not flag overlaps.

Can I export my data?

Yes. Export the rows you filtered in Reports as CSV, with hours and cost columns. You can also print a PDF work report.

What is in the PDF?

A work report: title, date range, total hours and the amount per currency, then line items grouped by project. It carries no client records, numbering or tax lines.

Can I import my history from another time tracker?

Yes. Go to Settings, then Import. Projects, tasks and time entries come across from other time-tracking apps. The list of supported sources is growing.

Can I use it on my phone?

Yes, in the browser. The layout adapts to a phone screen. There is no separate mobile app.

How do I sign in?

With Google, or with an email address and a password. If you sign in with Google on an address that already has a password account, the two are linked. You can add a password to a Google-only account in Settings.

What happens when I archive a project or a task?

It leaves your active lists and keeps all its history. Projects and tasks archive. They are never deleted. Only deleting your account removes data.
